Murphy Residence

This is a large-scale remodel to an existing spanish-style house in Santa Barbara with amazing panoramic views of the Pacific. The main goal was to unify the disjointed common spaces and create a large and open great room with direct access to the rear yard, all overlooking the ocean below.

The entry to the house was also updated and formalized with a traditional groin vault. As soon as you enter the space, the view becomes the focal point, now framed by two over-sized pocketing slider doors that disappear into the adjacent walls.

A new double-sided fireplace separates the indoor dining from the outdoor dining space on the loggia

The new kitchen is fully-equipped and offers a double-island layout for entertaining.
