Bornhurst Residence

This was a second level addition to an existing single-level house in Santa Barbara. The program included a new den, office, and guest bedroom/bathroom. A new deck was also proposed where the clients would be able to see the ocean just a few blocks away.

The clients were seeking a mid-century modern feel with updated materials such as a standing seam metal roof, fiber cement paneling, Fleetwood doors and windows, and a wood siding rain-screen that was bleached to create an appearance consistent with their casual beach-culture lifestyle.
